There’s more to being a landlord than just owning and renting a property. There are legal requirements that can cause problems if either the landlord or the tenant aren’t fully informed.
The City of Sheboygan is making sure that anyone interested can be educated through a Landlord Training Program being offered from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 3rd in the City Hall Council Chamber. Such subjects as code compliance, fair and legal tenant screening practices and legal issues will be covered by a local Attorney who specializes in Landlord/Tenant law, and by members of the MEG Unit, Police Department, Fire Department, and the City Planning and Building Inspection Departments.
The program costs $10 and includes a 100+ page resource manual, training materials, and light food and beverages. If you’re interested, you have to register before Friday, October 21st. Details and registration forms can be found by following this link.
