It is with broken hearts that we had to say goodbye to our beloved husband, dad, grandpa and father-in-
law, Cris Felix Schneider, on September 15, 2022. Cris was a pancreatic cancer survivor but was taken
from us by a rare bacterial infection.
Cris was born September 26, 1951 in Portsmouth, VA, to John & Virginia (Brasted) Schneider. Cris
attended many grade schools in several states as his dad was a career Navy man. Cris graduated from
Plymouth High School in 1969. He then served two years in the Navy at Great Lakes Naval Base in IL as a
hospital corpsman. In 2015, Cris retired from the Vollrath Company in Sheboygan, WI after 37 years of
service. Cris enjoyed working at Vollrath, in large part because he met his lifelong friend, Mike Klee,
there.
Cris met Diana Rentmeester, his wife of 52 years, at Plymouth High when they were both 15. They
married when they were 18 in 1970 and had 4 wonderful children by the time they were 25. They have
resided in the same house in rural Plymouth since 1972.
Nothing was more important to Cris than his family. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids,
never missing a chance to see them play ball, sing, dance, run track and play guitar. Whatever they
were doing, he wanted to be there, and he never missed a chance to brag about them to his friends and
family.
He enjoyed all our extended family parties and loved being the life of the party. Cris most certainly lived
life to the fullest! He would often bust out some great dance moves including his signature Schneider
shuffle dance and sing his favorite Frankie Valli songs. He loved playing softball in his younger years,
especially with his sons. Cris also enjoyed golfing, playing the Buffalo video game, Sheepshead and
poker, as well as doing his local bar sign-ins with his best buddy, Rich Boll. Cris also loved a friendly
argument about football as he was not a Packers fan, and definitely wanted everyone to know!
Cris was also a community guy, involved in the Gift of Life charity organization for many years. He found
great pleasure in giving back to others, which he continues to do as he was involved in pancreatic cancer
research studies as well as other medical research which will aide in saving lives.
Cris is survived by his wife Diana; his son & daughter-in-law, Cris & Lisa Schneider and their two sons,
Jake (fiancée, Courtney Werderitch) and Luke (girlfriend, Amber Vanlandghen); his son & daughter-in-
law, Cory & Susan Schneider; his daughter & son-in-law, Kelly & Matthew Johnson, and their daughter,
Iris and son, Ezra. Additionally, Cris is survived by his brother & sister-in-law John & Barb Schneider;
sister and brother-in-law Linda & Dennis Immel; sister Shari Dufek and brother Butch Schneider. He is
also survived by his sisters-in-law Irene (Larry) Holzman; Myrtle Moths; Barbara Webb (Ken Pannier);
Sylvia Hoitink, Cindy (Galen) Swartzendruber ; Angela Fortune (Dennis Sarchet) and former brother in
law, Joel Fortune. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews and good friends, as well as his
granddogs, Tito, Gary, Norman and Leo.
Cris is reunited with his beloved son Craig Robert; his parents, John & Virginia; his father-in-law &
mother-in-law, Robert & Agnes Rentmeester; brothers-in-law Paul Hoitink, John Webb, Marvin Moths;
niece Tami Leynse and nephew Todd Leynse.
A private family service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Cris’ name to benefit the National Pancreatic
Cancer Foundation (https://www.npcf.us/) and the Diabetes Research Institute
(https://diabetesresearch.org/). Please include Cris’ name in the tribute so that we may properly thank
you for your generous donation.
