MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – Aaron Judge hit his 58th and 59th home runs of the season as part of a five-homer outburst by the New York Yankees offense in a 12-8 win over the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field on Sunday.
Judge’s day included a pair of solo shots in the 3rd and 7th innings along with a double and single. He finished 4 for 5 with four RBI, three runs scored, and one walk.
But Milwaukee did not go quietly. The Brewers scored four of their eight runs over the final two innings of the game courtesy of a home run from Rowdy Tellez and a ground-rule double by Jace Peterson. Tyrone Taylor and Kolten Wong both recorded home runs in the game as well.
Milwaukee had the tying run at the plate in the 9th but failed to bring him around.
Jason Alexander started for Milwaukee but didn’t make it out of the fourth inning, allowing six hits and three earned runs. Hoby Milner finished the fourth and allowed one hit and two earned runs. He was tagged with the loss.
Four other relievers were then called into action over the final five innings. All of them surrendered at least one run except for Brent Suter, who allowed two hits.
Milwaukee falls to 78-68 on the season and sits eight games behind St. Louis in the NL Central. They are also two games behind San Diego for the third Wild Card spot in the National League.
The Brewers will host the New York Mets for a three game series beginning Monday night with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 6:05.
