An 88-year-old Sheboygan Woman has died in a Manitowoc County crash. Sheriff Daniel Hartwig reported on Thursday that at around 8:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Deputies and EMS personnel responded to I-43 at County Trunk Highway “XX” in the township of Centerville regarding a two-vehicle crash.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the Sheboygan woman was operating a 2010 Toyota SUV southbound on I-43 when she proceeded onto the west shoulder, rear-ending an unoccupied 2023 Ford flatbed truck owned by Enterprise Fm Trust. The truck had been parked outside the lane of travel and had warning devices in place. The operator of the SUV died of her injuries at the scene.
No further information will be released at this time as the accident remains under investigation. Assistance is being provided by the Wisconsin State Patrol which is conducting a reconstruction of the crash.
