Karen M. Fessler, age 80, of Sheboygan passed away on August 29, 2022, at Sheboygan Senior
Community.
She was born in Milwaukee on August 30, 1941, to the late Ralph and Thelma (Kaszczysen)
Labecki. On August 27, 1960, Karen married James Fessler. In 1970, the couple moved their
family to Sheboygan. James preceded her in death on March 17, 2013. Karen was a member of
St. Dominic Catholic Church, where she prepared meals for the priests for many years.
Karen is survived by her children, Kris (Chris) Hanson of Cleveland, WI and Matt Fessler
(Pamela) of Camarillo, CA; five grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jason) Sohn, Kelsey Hanson (Brandon),
Megan (Theodor) Schultz, Emily and Allison Fessler; six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Abigail, Jack,
Cora, Augustus, and Hendrik; siblings, Thomas (Donna) Labecki and Debra (John) Slamka; the
Tarnowski's along with other nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Along with her parents and husband, Karen was preceded in death by a sister Cheryl Karolczak.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Karen will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 2, 2022, at St.
Dominic Catholic Church, 2133 N 22nd St. in Sheboygan with Father Mark Brandl officiating.
Family will greet visitors on Friday at CHURCH from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Karen
will be laid to rest at Greendale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Karen's name.
Her family would like to thank the staff at both Sheboygan Senior Community and Aurora
Medical Center for their care and kindness.
