LOS ANGELES, CA (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers by a final of 4-0 on Monday night at Dodger Stadium as the two teams kicked off a three-game series.
The Brewers led 1-0 on a 4th inning Luis Urias home run, then they added three insurance runs in the 9th. Christian Yelich had an RBI double, Hunter Renfroe delivered a sac-fly and Keston Hiura hit a solo homer – his 3rd home run in the last two days.
Eric Lauer went 5 innings to pick up the win, giving up five hits with two strikeouts and two walks. Peter Strzelecki, Hoby Milner, Matt Bush and Jason Alexander delivered four scoreless innings against the best offense in the league.
However, Milwaukee could not pick up any ground on St. Louis as the Cardinals beat the Cubs 1-0. They did pick up a half game on idle San Diego in the wild card chase.
The Brewers and Dodgers will square off again Tuesday night with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 8:35.
