Customer service windows at many City of Sheboygan departments won’t be able to take care of business later this week. That’s due to an upgrade of the computer software system called “MUNIS”, which is used by the City to account for many of its transactions.
Because of this, on Friday and Saturday the Police Department can’t accept parking ticket payments or those for dog and cat licenses; there will be no permitting, licensing or payment processing for the Building Inspection Division; all cashiering transactions at the Finance Department will be interrupted, and there will be no receipting or permits issued through the Department of Public Works. That last includes payments for park permits, special events and boat slip payments.
Assuming all goes well with the software upgrade, normal operations should resume this coming Monday.
