MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers struggles continued on Sunday with a 4-2 loss in 10 innings to the Cincinnati Reds at American Family Field.
Milwaukee took a 1-0 led in the 3rd inning on the 22nd home run of the year for Willy Adames. The Reds tied the game in the 5th inning on the first home run of the year for Michael Papierski.
The Reds took the lead in the 8th but Keston Hiura tied it for the Brewers in the 9th with a solo home run.
Cincinnati quickly regained the lead in the 10th on a throwing error by Mike Brosseau. The Brewers went quietly in the 10th, striking out three times to end the game.
The Brewers wasted a good performance from Corbin Burnes who went six innings, giving up one run on two hits with 9 strikeouts.
Milwaukee has now fallen to 58-50 overall and two games behind St. Louis in the Central Division standings. They have the day off Monday with Tampa Bay coming to American Family Field for two games Tuesday and Wednesday.
