(WHBL) – Washington County is asking voters for more money while Waukesha County has declared a community health crisis – both to deal with fentanyl.
The counties said on Monday they’re looking to tackle the spike in fentanyl deaths together.
Washington County Executive Josh Schoemann says fentanyl is to blame for 87 percent of his county’s drug deaths this year. Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow, meanwhile, said drug deaths are now the leading non-natural cause of death in his county.
Both men say they want to help with more police officers and more treatment options for people on drugs.
