Joanne E. Roitt, age 90, of Plymouth, passed away Saturday (July 9, 2022) at Rocky
Knoll Health Care Facility in Plymouth where she had been a resident for the last two
months.
She was born on February 24, 1932 in Plymouth, WI, a daughter of Herman and Irene
(Huberty) Krueger.
Joanne attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Grade school and graduated from Plymouth
High School in 1950.
On May 19, 1956, Joanne married Delbert J. Roitt at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church
in Plymouth. The couple farmed in the Town of Mitchell until 1975, moving to Willow
Road in the Town of Rhine. Her husband preceded her in death on December 27, 2006.
Joanne was employed at Borden’s Food in Plymouth for several years, then at Rocky
Knoll Health Care Facility for many years retiring in 1996.
She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Elkhart Lake and was
an Auxiliary member of the Hassle-Doebert-Schmidt American Legion Post # 261 in
Greenbush.
Joanne enjoyed reading, gardening cooking and spending time with her family.
Survivors include two sons: Dennis Roitt Sr. of Berlin, Thomas (Kitty) Roitt, Town of
Rhine, One daughter, Nancy Lawrence (special friend, Ron Melzer) of Milwaukee,
Daughter-in-law: Deborah Roitt of Plymouth, Eleven grandchildren: Jessica (Jason)
Colton, Jacquelynn Voss, Crystal (Nicholas) Uebelher, Jamie (Chad) Sesing, Dennis
Roitt Jr., Katherine Barry, Rebeca (Casey) Roitt, Julia (Trevor Sr.) Snyder, Deborah
Pena, Shaun Schroeder, Nicole (Scott) Fischer. Seventeen great grandchildren: Jadon,
Evelyn, Elena, Greta, Addison, Daphne, Glenroy, Angel, Lily, Emily, Joanne, Hailey,
Trevor Jr., Udyk, Liam, Annowore and Harvey. One brother, Kermit Krueger of
Plymouth,
Joanne is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; One son: James, Four sister-in-law’s: Dorothy
(Leonard) Davidson, Grace (Robert) Roitt, Winona Krueger and Lois Weber.
A Prayer service will be held on Friday (July 15, 2022) at 12:00 Noon at the Suchon
Funeral Home in Plymouth. Joe Zenk, chaplain for the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice
will officiate. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Plymouth.
Relatives and friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 10:00
A.M. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Joanne’s name for the
Plymouth Food Pantry or the Hassle-Doebert-Schmidt American Legion Post # 261.
