PITTSBURGH, PA (WHBL) – The Pittsburgh Pirates knocked off the Milwaukee Brewers 8-7 on Thursday night in the first of a four-game series in Pittsburgh.
Brewers starter Adrian Houser was taken out in the 2nd inning after giving up back-to-back home runs. He also has elbow tightness and is expected to go on the IL after an exam back in Milwaukee.
Michael Perez hit three home runs for the Pirates. Oneil Cruz and Jack Suwinski went deep as well.
Andrew McCutchen had three hits for Milwaukee. Willy Adames had two RBIs. Christian Yelich, Rowdy Tellez, Kolten Wong, Luis Urias, and Omar Narvaez also drove in runs for the Crew.
Milwaukee scored three runs in the 9th and had runners at the corners with two outs when Urias popped up to end the game.
The two teams square off again Friday night with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 5:30.
