No clear upward nor downward trends could be seen in the past month’s COVID-19 activity count posted Friday by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health.
Another 172 cases were added since last Friday’s update, bringing to 31,179 the total cases recorded during the pandemic in Sheboygan County. There were no additional deaths in the last week.
Hospitalizations have been relatively steady, with the most recent patient count of 6 equal to last Friday’s. A total of 5 new patients brings the count of hospitalizations for COVID-19 in Sheboygan County to 1,251.
The level of community transmission as measured by the CDC in Sheboygan County on Friday the 23rd was “Low”, with 175.13 new cases per 100,000 people in the last 7 days. That compares with 192.47 a week ago. New hospital admissions for treatment of COVID-19 remained at 4.5 over the past week, and the 7-day average percent of staffed inpatient beds occupied by COVID-19 patients dropped from 3.8% to 3.0%.
The Sheboygan County Division of Public Health is recommending that COVID-19 vaccine be administered to everyone ages 6 months and older in accordance with CDC recommendations. They remind residents that the DPH “Walk-in Wednesday Clinic” scheduled for June 29th from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. will be hosted at the Sheboygan Farmers Market in Fountain Park. No insurance or ID is required.
