Road Closure Calumet Drive from the Sheboygan DPW
Summer is “high season” not only for tourism here, but also for maintenance on the roads traveled when touring. In the City of Sheboygan, a few more were added to the list on Wednesday.
On Thursday, June 23rd, Zimbal Avenue between North 7th and 8th Streets will be closed to through traffic to allow for private utility work that’s expected to take one day.
Also, as part of the ongoing pavement repairs to Calumet Drive, both eastbound and westbound traffic on Geele Avenue is being redirected at the intersection with Calumet Drive.
According to the Department of Public Works:
. Eastbound Geele Avenue Traffic is required to make a right turn and continue southbound on Calumet Drive.
. Westbound Geele Avenue traffic is required to make a right turn and continue northbound on Calumet Drive.
. Southbound Calumet Drive traffic will remain restricted to one lane.
. Northbound Calumet Drive traffic will remain closed and detoured between Nor th 15th Street and Geele Avenue.
The intersection of Calumet Drive and Geele Avenue should re-open on Friday, June 24th, and as in all cases, is dependent upon the weather.
