Those traveling Sheboygan streets over the next few days will want to know about several detours planned to accommodate work being done.
The eastbound lane of North Avenue between North 27th and 28th Streets will be closed for a fire hydrant relocation between 8 a.m. and 12 noon on Wednesday, June 22nd. Residents will still have access and westbound traffic won’t be affected, however the eastbound flow will be detoured via 28th Street, Main Avenue, and 27th Street.
South 12th Street is closed to through traffic between Kentucky and Georgia Avenues between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. for private utility work. That street, contingent upon weather, should reopen on Thursday, June 23rd.
Finally, Moenning Road from its origins at Weeden Creek Road to its northern bend will be under construction beginning Thursday, June 23rd so that the surface can be pulverized and overlaid with new asphalt pavement. Closures will occur at various times, the first of which – for the removal of the existing pavement – will be on Thursday the 23rd and should take two days. At some time in the future, the road will again be closed in order to install new pavement, but that date has not been set.
Traffic will be detoured using Weeden Creek and South Business Drive. Weather permitting, work should be completed on July 15th.
