SAN DIEGO, CA (WHBL) – An RBI double from Rowdy Tellez and a sac fly from Tyrone Taylor provided all the offense the Milwaukee Brewers needed in a 2-1 win over San Diego on Wednesday, capping off a series win over the Padres.
Andrew McCutchen led the way with two of Milwaukee’s four hits. Tellez and Kolten Wong provided the other two.
Aaron Ashby returned to the starting rotation for the Crew and threw 5.2 innings and allowed one unearned run off four hits. He did not factor in the decision, as that went to Luis Perdomo (1-0).
Devin Williams worked a perfect 9th to pick up the save.
Yu Darvish was the hard-luck loser for San Diego as he pitched into the 7th but was charged with both Brewer’s runs. He recorded seven strikeouts and two walks in the game.
The Brewers begin a four-game series in St. Louis against the Cardinals on Thursday night. Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 6:10.
