MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – Freddy Peralta was roughed up over three innings and the Milwaukee Brewers couldn’t recover in an 8-2 loss to the Washington Nationals on Sunday.
Peralta allowed six hits and five earned runs before being pulled due to shoulder tightness. Brent Suter didn’t fare much better over the next two innings as he gave up five hits and three runs.
Tyrone Taylor led the Brewers’ offense with two hits, an RBI, and a run scored. That run came on a solo homer in the 5th. Later in that inning, Andrew McCutchen grounded into a force out that brought home Jace Peterson.
Five Washington batters recorded two hits apiece.
Despite the loss, Milwaukee still won the weekend series 2-1 and now sits at 26-15 on the season. St. Louis sits 3 games back in second place.
The Brewers head west on Monday to begin a three-game series against San Diego. Pregame coverage on WHBL will begin at 8:05.
