Dr. Dale A. Johnson, age 78, of Kohler, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at St. Nicholas Hospital with his wife at his side. Dr. Johnson lived in Williams Bay and later Lake Geneva during his elementary and high school years. Following high school he completed a bachelor’s degree at UW-Madison, masters and doctoral degrees at UW Milwaukee. Following graduation, he worked as Assistant Dean at UW-Milwaukee before going into business in Williamsburg, Virginia. In 1986 he was promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Centex, Inc., a telecommunications company. He also taught business courses for Goerge Washington University.
In 1987 Dr. Johnson and wife, Jennifer, moved to Eau Claire, Wisconsin. While Jennifer managed the local Prange’s store, Dale worked at UW-Eau Claire as professor of Management Information Systems and Associate Dean of the College of Business.
Dale and Jennifer left Eau Claire in 2005 and moved to Padre Island, off the coast of Corpus Christi. Sailing and golf occupied sunny days in Texas.
During the Texas years, Dr. Johnson began a most exciting career as a Christian Science Practitioner. During the subsequent years in Texas and then Kohler, Wisconsin, he worked with patients to achieve healing in cases of diabetes, cancer, heart attacks, broken bones, and many financial and social issues. All healings were done metaphysically, without the use of medicine. Dale’s faith makes him who he was. He lived his faith. He shared his faith.
Dale was a kind, loving and caring husband and Jennifer’s best friend. He was a gentleman that enjoyed a sense of humor and making people smile and laugh, his church, golf, sailing, learning, and sharing stories.
His wife of 41 years Jennifer still lives in Kohler. Dale and Jennifer had the most loving marriage imaginable. It is hard to imagine any two people being closer and happier than Jennifer and Dale. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Johnson, his mother, Alma Johnson and his sister, Alice Johnson.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of Christ Scientist, 2512 North 9th Street, Sheboygan. Family and friends may gather at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
Dale and Jennifer want to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Nicholas Hospital and Sheboygan Progressive Health Services for their loving care and support.
In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to send memorial contributions to the First Church of Christ Scientist, or Habitat for Humanity Lakeside, P.O. Box 973, Sheboygan, WI 53081.
