Cecilia “Ceil” T. Lorenz, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away Tuesday
morning, May 10, 2022, at Pine Haven Christian Home. She was 84
years old.
Ceil T. Van De Kreeke was born May 30, 1937, in Sheboygan, the
daughter of John and Huberta (nee Pilon) Van De Kreeke. She
graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1955 and went on to
study at Holy Family College in Manitowoc and Lakeshore Technical
Institute. From 1976 to 1989, she was a Health Occupation Instructor at
Lakeshore Technical College. From 1984 until her retirement in 1994,
she also worked at Lakeland Orthopedics and St. Nicholas Hospital, E.R.
in Sheboygan.
On October 6, 1956, she was united in marriage with John “Jack” Lorenz
at St. Clement Catholic Church in Sheboygan. They spent their entire
married life in Sheboygan Falls raising four sons. They celebrated 56
years together before Jack’s passing in 2013.
Ceil and Jack enjoyed traveling, including trips to Alaska and Hawaii,
springtime trips to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina which included taking
each grandchild to see the ocean, and annual Korean Veteran reunions
held in Wisconsin and Minnesota. She enjoyed going to Packer games
(including the Ice Bowl), attending children and grandchildren school
events, sewing, flower gardening, reading, and spending time with her
family.
Ceil was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls, where
she was involved in the Parish Council, serving as a Eucharistic Minister
and Lector. She was a faithful volunteer of other various organizations
including Partners in Reading and Rainbow Kids.
Ceil is survived by her two sons, Steven (Kris) Lorenz and William
Lorenz, both of Sheboygan Falls; grandchildren, Adam (Sammy) Lorenz,
Theresa (Jeff) Schaller, and Joseph (Brittany Seefeld) Lorenz; sister,
Marnel Raatz; brother, John (Candace) Van De Kreeke; sister-in-law,
Virginia Lorenz; brother-in-law, Alvin Steinke; nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
Ceil is preceded in death by her husband, Jack; two sons, Mark Lorenz
and Michael Lorenz and parents John (Wilma) and Huberta Van De
Kreeke.
A Memorial Mass to celebrate Ceil’s life will be held at 10:30AM on
Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Blessed Trinity Parish with Father Dick
Fleischmann officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church on
Saturday from 9:30-10:30AM.
She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Sheboygan Falls.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made in her name.
