25.62% of Sheboygan County’s 115,661 persons have experienced a bout of COVID-19 at some time during the pandemic as of Friday, April 29th.
The number of active cases of COVID-19 known to the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health has consistently risen for the past three weeks having dipped to 59 cases on April 7th, and now rising to 175 as of Friday, April 29th. That’s the most since 197 were reported on March 11th. 21 new cases were recorded as of Friday, putting the pandemic total at 29,643. With 10 recoveries, the active case count increased by 11. The latest readings of the 7-day average of new confirmed COVID-19 cases in Sheboygan County, recorded on April 28, was 14 after having risen to a recent high of 19 on the 26th.
Two more persons experienced their first admission to a hospital for treatment in the last day, raising the pandemic patient total here to 1,218. Three persons, two more than on Thursday, are currently being treated.
Since Thursday’s update, six more persons received their first shot, five got their second dose of vaccine, and another 21 received their boosters. That amounts to 72,639, or 63.0% with at least one shot; 69,765, or 60.5% with two; and 38,323, or 33.3% having received boosters.
