Known active cases of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County have returned to mid-March levels according to data posted Monday by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health. Over the weekend another 44 tests were confirmed positive, raising the case total to 29,549. Offset by 31 recoveries, the active case count rose 13 to 129, the highest since 135 were noted on March 17th. After reaching a 7-day average of daily new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County of 12 on Friday, Monday’s snapshot taken on Sunday by the State DHS was down to 10.
There were four persons hospitalized for COVID-19 treatment on Monday, an increase of 3 over the weekend. However the total count of individuals ever hospitalized remained unchanged at 1,215.
Downward revisions were made by the State DHS concerning first, and second-dose, vaccine recipients. 72,611 have received one shot, or 63.0%. Second-doses have been given to 79,725, or 60.5%. Another 11 persons received boosters since Friday, raising that total to 38,244, or 33.2%.
After having made steady declines to date this spring, the number of Facility-Wide Investigations underway in Sheboygan County reversed course and has begun to increase.
Whereas last week there were no skilled nursing long-term care facilities with active investigations, Pine Haven has been added to Monday’s list.
Also, after having declined to one education facility as of April 11, that number increased to three last week, and this week there are six schools hosting active investigations. Those are:
