
Ruth Catherine Dietz was born August 8, 1928 to Gottlieb and Frieda Dietz. Ruth was their
fifth daughter. She attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School and graduated from
Central High School.
Ruth was employed at the Jacob Jung Decorating Studios for one year when John
Dulmes joined the company. She later married Clarence John Dulmes on August
31, 1946. They had three sons, Jeffery, Daniel and Gary.
In 1960, with the Lord’s Blessing, they decided to venture out on their own and
open Dulmes Paint Store. Today the store is known as Dulmes Décor Carpet One,
owned by their son Gary.
John and Ruth’s family was complete with the addition of three daughters-in-law,
Dyanne, Beth and Susan. They blessed the Dulmes’ with five grandchildren:
Gregory, the twins Dawn and Lucas, Anna and Ali.
Ruth lost her eyesight in 2005.
In 2010 she lost her loving husband John. Prior to his passing, their dreams were
fulfilled with travel, a condo in Florida as well as a home at Crystal Lake.

Ruth was preceded in death by her sister Laverne and brother-in-law Arthur
Aschenbach, a sister Beatrice and her husband Wally Dotz, sister-in-law Alda and
Les Lammers, brother-in-law Harold Stolper, brother-in-law Bob Larson, her son
Daniel in 2015, daughter-in-law Dyanne in February, 2018, niece Shirley
Aschenbach in March, 2018 and niece Charlotte Rahn in July 2021.
She is survived by two sisters Rose Marie Larson and Edithe Stolper. Without
Rose Marie, Ruth declared that independence in her own home would not have
been possible. She also credited Edithe for strengthening her spiritual life. “She
inspired me with every visit.” Ruth is further survived by son Gary (Sue) Dulmes,
son Jeffery Dulmes, five grandchildren, Gregory, Dawn, Lucas, Ali (Matteo
Parpaiola), Anna (Colin) Whinnery, great-granddaughter Nora Whinnery, great-
grandson Wyatt Dulmes and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may gather at Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 Wisconsin Ave.
Sheboygan on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at
12:00 p.m. noon. Pastor John Berg will officiate. Burial will take place in the
Hingham Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Trinity Lutheran
Church in Sheboygan and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
Special thanks to Bob and Jean Krepsky, Artie and Vicki Larson, Debbie
Buchanan, Wendy Lundt, and Kathy and Diane Aschenbach who would all visit
and let Ruth talk for hours. Betty Kuehlmann, dearest friend of 64 years and
Audrey VanDixhorn- who took care of all medical needs. Pastor Berg and Pastor
Mech for their monthly visits, and finally an expression of immense gratitude for
all of those people who improved Ruth’s quality of life.
