A Soldier from Kiel has won the title of Wisconsin’s “Soldier of the Year” after judging of mental and physical aptitudes through competition that involved combat fitness, various gun qualifications, essay writing, a 12-mile march and other field skills.
Specialist Joshua Kleinhans of Kiel, a member of B Battery, 1st Battalion, 121st Field Artillery Battery, was given the “Soldier of the Year” designation and will compete in the regional Best Warrier Competition next month at Camp Atterbury, Indiana. He’ll be joined by Noncommissioned Officer of the Year winner Sergeant Josia Bell of Rochester, Minnesota.
