Masters Gallery Foods has become the first manufacturer in Wisconsin to deploy the 100% electric Class-8 truck from maker Orange EV. The Kansas City, Missouri-based truck maker delivered the truck, which is designed to replace diesel-powered vehicles, on April 1st at the Oostburg facility.
Masters Gallery V-P of Procurement and Industrial Sales Andy Pfister said that the Orange EV will provide a significant increase in efficiency and longevity compared to diesels, reducing the need for maintenance and replacement, and will eliminate an estimated 750 tons of carbon dioxide over its lifetime use.
Pfister said that Masters Gallery plans to go completely electric with its terminal fleet by June of next year.
