Construction on Indiana Avenue / County Highway “PP” will require full closure of one stretch on that road on Tuesday.
The Department of Public Works said that the Avenue from Taylor Drive to South 24th Street will be closed to through traffic tomorrow, and will reopen to one lane of traffic, eastbound only, on Wednesday.
Construction is part of a State project to improve the roadway between Esslingen Park west of Taylor Drive to South 24th Street, and the project is expected to take until November to complete.
Some relief for those living near the project should be coming soon. On Tuesday the Public Works Committee will likely enact a repeal of the one-way designation for South 24th Street between Indiana and Georgia Avenues. Assuming approval by the committee, the Council would take final action next Monday.
