The 38th casualty of the coronavirus pandemic in Sheboygan County in 2022 was reported on Thursday by the County Division of Public Health. The victim – a person in their 50s – is the second reported this week, and the 264th of the pandemic. The current pace is nearly identical to that of 2021 when 40 deaths had been reported for the year by April 7th. By age, one of the 264 was between 10 and 19 years old, six were in their 30s, nine were in their 40s, nineteen were in their 50s, forty-four were in their 60s, seventy were in their 70s, and one-hundred-fifteen were at least 80 years old.
Along with the deceased, the 9 recoveries outweighed the 7 new cases to drop the active case count by three to 59. 29,372 cases in all have been confirmed here. The 7-day average of daily new confirmed cases of COVID-19 remained at 3.
There was no change in hospital statistics in the last day, with two patients currently being cared for.
Another 13 persons received their first dose of vaccine in the last day; 11 got their second dose, and another 22 were administered boosters. 72,506, or 62.9% have received at least one dose; 69,497, or 60.3% have received two; 37,890, or 32.9%, have gotten their boosters.
