Larry Genske, 80, of Town of Mosel, went home to eternal peace on Monday, March 28, 2022.
He was born May 12, 1941, in Hilbert to the late Charles and Mabel (Beil) Genske. He was
baptized and confirmed at St. John’s UCC and attended Central High School in Sheboygan. He
worked for Bemis for 42 years. Where he met Virginia “Ginny” Rahn. They were married on
July 8, 1967.
In his younger years he enjoyed working on vehicles, remodeling the house, snowmobiling,
camping, fishing, hunting, going up north, putzing in his garage while listening to the oldies, and
watching the Packers. He also enjoyed the early morning sunrises on his patio watching the
hummingbirds and being thankful for all his travels. He loved spending time with his children
and grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his wife of 54 years Ginny, three children; daughter Brenda (Jeff Pingel)
Pennings of School Hill, and Brenda’s children; Chad (Ellen) Pennings and Kayla (Brandon Koller)
Pennings, son Dave Genske of Town of Mosel and daughter Michelle (Arno) Paarmann of
Howards Grove and their children; Matthew and Marissa and step-children Jessica and
Jeremiah, five great-grandchildren; Bryna and Brielle Pennings, Ava and Addison Koller, and
Reyah Millitzer, one brother; Ray Genske of Sheboygan. He is further survived by many nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Alfred
and Viola Rahn, six brothers; Eugene, Carl (Viola), LeRoy (Sue), Russell (Joyce), Merlin (Jean),
DeWayne (Mary), six sisters; Geraldine Genske, Pearl Deja, Marie (Veron) Schwalenberg, Elaine
(Ray) Schumann, Shelby Wendt, and Donna (Gene) Piontkowski, and sister-in-law Diane
Genske.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Zimmer Westview
Funeral & Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Rd. Sheboygan, with Rev. Gregory Whelton
officiating. If you are unable to join the family for the service, it will be livestreamed on Larry’s
obituary page on the funeral home’s website. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial
Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Saturday, April 2, 2022, from 11:00
AM until the time of service at the FUNERAL HOME.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Larry’s name.
