Maryanne V. Oldenburg, age 88, of Sheboygan, died on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at Meadow View Manor Care Center. She was born in Sheboygan on January 2, 1934, the daughter of the late Raymond and Violet Fries Stueber.
Maryanne attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1952. On September 5, 1953, she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Oldenburg at the Naval Air Station in Norman, Oklahoma.
She was a homemaker and took pride in raising her four children. Maryanne also was an internationally renowned doll artist and traveled the country and the world promoting and training others in her craft. She was the owner and operator of “Oldenburg Originals” and “Oldenburg and Company”. Over the years Maryanne and her family produced thousands of dolls for collectors worldwide. She was a member of the United Federation of Doll Clubs, and many other doll associations. Maryanne enjoyed golfing, tennis, softball and traveling with her family. She is a current member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church and many other Catholic parishes in Sheboygan County throughout the years.
Survivors include her four children, Rob (Kay) Oldenburg of Burlington, Bambi (Joe) Gulig of Sheboygan, Kelly (Bob) Paulson of Grafton, and Pat (Jennifer) Oldenburg of Eau Claire; nine grandchildren, Elise (partner Casey Schoemmer) Oldenburg, Rebecca Oldenburg, Jennifer (Brian) Goetsch, Jeremy (partner Liz Davis) Gulig, Joshua (partner Alexandra Nehrkorn) Gulig, Jonathan (fiancée Amanda Frank) Gulig, Megan (Joshua) Nunez, Emily (Kyle) White, and Lilley Oldenburg; eight great-grandchildren, Hannah, Zoey, Nolan, Sullivan, Violet, Liam, Aria and Lorenzo; her sister, Ruth Neisius; two sisters-in-law, Mary Stueber and Marion Oldenburg; and a brother-in-law, Bob Minster. Many other relatives and friends further survive her. Her parents, husband, a brother and two sisters, all preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1305 Humboldt Ave. Sheboygan with Fr. Paul Fliss officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Maryanne’s name and should be directed to the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Maryanne’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Terrace Place, Meadow View Manor and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the compassion and care that was given to her.
