Joseph C. Busalacchi, age 103, formerly of Wauwatosa, WI, passed away peacefully with his family at his
side on March 23 at the Waterford Assisted Living in Plymouth, where he resided for the past five years.
He was born on June 27, 1919 in Milwaukee, WI, a son of the late Louis and Vincenza (Sutera)
Busalacchi.
Joe graduated from Marquette University in 1941 with a degree in Mathematics. After graduation he
taught math and coached boxing at an Indian Mission School in Stephan, SD. After a stint in the Coast
Guard in 1942, he worked with his family at the Busalacchi Banana Company. He then taught general
math, algebra and geometry at Longfellow Junior High School and Wauwatosa East High School in
Wauwatosa, WI. During that time he also coached Men’s AAU and boys junior high basketball until his
retirement.
On December 29, 1943, he married Eva Farino at St. Rose Catholic Church in Milwaukee.
Joe was a mentor to everyone he came across and a legend to all. He was loved by everyone, especially
his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He lived a full life and will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his son, Louis (Sandra) Busalacchi of Plymouth and his daughter, Christine (Terry)
Clemens of Novi, MI, two sisters, Rose Holzman of Waukesha and Ann (Jerry) Jacoby of Menomonee
Falls, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva, and his daughter, Antoinette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday (March 26, 2022) at 12:00 Noon at St. John the
Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. Father Philip Reifenberg, Pastor of the Church, will officiate. Burial
will be at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Milwaukee.
Visitation will take place on Saturday (March 26) at the CHURCH from 11:00 AM until the time of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Joe’s name.
