After a long two-year stretch of reduced service due to the pandemic, Sheboygan’s public transit system – Shoreline Metro – is back to providing full service.
It was March 25 of 2020 when the then-novel coronavirus forced drastic measures to help slow the spread of COVID-19, including significant reductions in bus service. Schedules had been impacted since then, but this past Monday, nearly two years to the day, full service resumed. Hours are now weekdays from 5:15 a.m. to 8:15 pm, and Saturdays from 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., with shuttles provided weekday evenings, all day Saturday and at end of service day. There are also paratransit services and weekday trips to and from Kohler and Sheboygan Falls, with on-demand schedules on Saturdays.
Something new is also coming soon. This past Tuesday the Transit and Parking Commission approved entering into an agreement with HotSpot for mobile payment technologies, meaning you’ll be able to leave the cash at home and pay with your mobile device.
