The Sheboygan County Division of Public Health has attributed four more deaths to complications of COVID-19 as of Wednesday, raising the toll for the pandemic here to 261. One of the four casualties was someone at least 80 years old, one was in their 70s, and two were in their 40s.
As of March 23, the County DPH reports 115 casualties were at least 80 years old, sixty-nine were in their 70s, forty-three were in their 60s, eighteen were in their 50s, nine were in their 40s, six were in their 30s, and one was between 10 and 19 years old.
While there was one new case recorded since Tuesday, four more had recovered by Wednesday and, accounting for the deaths the active case count fell by 7 to 88. 29,307 cases in all have been recorded here. The 7-day average of new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County bumped up one notch to 2.
First-time hospitalizations within the county rose by two, to 1,204, while there are 3 persons now hospitalized, one more than on Tuesday.
62.8% of county residents – amounting to 72,400 – have received at least one shot of vaccine. That’s an increase of just 19 in the last day. Another 28 received their second dose, raising that total to 59,324, or 60.2%. 32.6%, or 37,566, received their boosters, raising that total by 44.
