The number of active COVID-19 cases known to the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health has fallen below 100 for the first time since July 30, 2021, and is the lowest since that day when 85 cases were reported. That’s a drop of over 98% since January 27th this year when, at its peak, 5,214 cases of COVID-19 were being monitored.
On Tuesday, March 22, one new case was added to the running total which is now 29,306 cases. With six recoveries, the active count fell by 5 in the last day. The 7-day average of daily new COVID-19 cases is now 1.
Another 3 persons were admitted to county hospital facilities for treatment for the first time, raising the total patient count for COVID-19 so far to 1,202. Allowing for discharges, the bed count rose by one to 2 current patients.
4 more persons received their first dose of vaccine since Monday, meaning that 62.8% of the county population, or 72,381, have received at least one shot. 60.1%, or 68,296, are double-dosed, an increase of six. 32.6%, or 37,522, have received boosters, a gain of 21 in the last day.
