The fewest number of active cases and hospitalizations since last July were noted on Monday by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health in its semi-weekly COVID update.
100 cases are currently being monitored, the fewest since 85 were recorded on July 30 last year. July 30, 2021 is also the last time there were so few patients hospitalized for the disease, as there is only one patient now in Sheboygan County.
Since Friday, only 5 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were identified in Sheboygan County, raising the running total to 29,305. The number of total patients hospitalized at least once was revised downward by 3 to a total of 1,199. The 7-day average of new cases is down to 2.
Only one person receiving their first vaccination was recorded since Friday, raising that total to 72,377, or 62.8% of the county population. 4 more received their 2nd dose, raising that total to 69,290, or 60.1%. 32.5%, or 37,501, have received boosters, an increase of 35. A total of 356 doses were administered in Sheboygan County last week.
The number of nursing homes under facility-wide investigations was down by one compared to last week. The four currently being monitored are:
- Meadowview
- Plymouth Health Services
- Sheboygan Health Services
- Sheboygan Progressive
The number of education settings with active investigations dropped dramatically in the last week, from 22 to only 5. Those schools are:
- James Madison Elementary
- Plymouth Fairview Elementary
- Plymouth Riverview Middle
- Sheboygan North High
- Sheboygan South High
