The number of active COVID-19 cases being monitored in Sheboygan County by the Division of Public Health has fallen below 200 for the first time in 7 months.
As of Friday, March 11, 197 cases were active. 4 new cases were recorded since Thursday, while 27 recoveries were recorded, and the active case count dropped by 23. The 7-day average of new daily COVID-19 cases remained at 3. On August 9, 2021, 185 cases were noted, the fewest previously recorded.
There were 7 persons hospitalized, two fewer than on Thursday, while the total number of patients ever hospitalized for COVID-19 increased by one to 1,198.
10 more persons received their first dose of vaccine within the last 24-hours, raising that total to 72,334, or 62.8% of the county population. 60.0%, or 69,169, have completed both doses, an increase of 37 since Thursday. The number of those boosted increased by 101 to 37,310, or 32.4%.
