Beverly Jean Patricia (Ryan) Borgardt, 94, of Sheboygan, passed away on Monday,
February 28, 2022, at her home. She was born May 20, 1927, in Menomonee, MI
the oldest of three daughters to the late George and Ruth (Thyne) Ryan. Beverly
attended Lourdes School in Marinette and graduated from North High School in
Sheboygan with the Class of 1946.
On September 18, 1948, she was united in marriage to Edwin Borgardt in
Marinette. He preceded her in death on February 23, 1979. Beverly worked for
the Leverenz Shoe Factory for 25 years and Jung’s Shoe Factory for 15 years for a
total of 40 years, before retiring in 1986. Beverly was the 1 st woman in the factory
to work on the floor as a toe fitter, rather than in the shop as a seamstress.
Beverly was a woman to be admired. She knew what she wanted and made sure
she could get it done. Beverly and her sister Georgia remodeled their homes from
the ground up. She also had a heart of gold and was known for her hospitality.
Being one of the “Ryan Daughter’s” her and Eddie knew how to throw a St.
Patrick’s Day Party. They also entertained may friends with their card parties, the
ladies upstairs plating Canasta and the gentlemen downstairs playing poker.
Having family and friends over for open houses was also a favorite time of theirs.
Beverly loved her family, especially when she was able to help take care of her
great nieces Jennifer and Jessica until they were school age.
Beverly is survived by her sister Georgia Ryan, nieces, and nephews; Paula (Ron)
Stoppler, Steve (Cindy) Conto, Steven Borgardt, Linda (Lyle) Pierce and Cathy
Conto, four great nieces, two great nephews, seven great great nieces, three
great great nephews, and one great great great niece. She was preceded in
death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, infant daughter, sister Beryl
Conto and nephew James Conto.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at 11:00AM at
Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8 th St. Sheboygan,
with Fr. Norberto Sandoval officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. If
you are not able to join the family for the service, it will be livestreamed on her
obituary page on the funeral home website. Relatives and friends may visit with
the family on Thursday, March 17, 2022, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at
the FUNERAL HOME.
