The activity metrics tracking COVID-19 in Sheboygan County continue a downward path, but deaths due to the coronavirus continue.
The latest casualty – the 253rd of the pandemic – was a Sheboygan County resident in their 70s.
By age group, casualties so far consist of one person between 10 and 19 yers old, six were in their 30s, nine were in their 40s, sixteen were in their 50s, forty were in their 60s, sixty-seven were in their 70s, and one-hundred-fourteen were at least 80 years old.
Another 23 confirmed cases were logged since Friday, raising the pandemic total to 29,271. 390 of those are active, 30 fewer than on Friday and the lowest number since August 24,2021. The seven-day average of new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County as measured on March 6 was 6, down from 7 reported on Friday, and equal to that last reported on July 22, 2021.
Only one additional person needed hospitalization over the weekend, raising the total number hospitalized at least once to 1,195. Three fewer patients occupy county beds with COVID, now numbering 10 in all.
62.7% of county residents have received at least one dose of vaccine. That amounts to 72,240 persons, 10 more than on Friday. 16 more received their 2nd dose, raising that total to 69,033, or 59.9% of the county. 32.2%, or 37,113, have received boosters…35 more than on Friday.
