MADISON, WI (WHBL) – The Wisconsin Badgers clinched at least a share of the Big Ten regular-season title with a thrilling win over Purdue, 70-67, on Tuesday night at the Kohl Center.
Chucky Hepburn banked in the game winning 3-pointer with 1.5 seconds left to break a 67-67 tie. Tyler Wahl then intercepted the ensuing in-bounds pass to seal the victory.
After Brad Davison missed the front end of a bonus free throw that would have put the Badgers up by four, Purdue’s Jaden Ivey hit a three-pointer that tied the game with 8.9 seconds left.
Hepburn had a career high 17 points for Wisconsin. Wahl had 16 and Johnny Davis finished with 16 points and eight rebounds.
The Badgers have won five straight and are 24-5, 15-4 in the conference. They can win the title outright for the first time since 2015 with a victory vs Nebraska in the regular season finale on Sunday afternoon in Madison.
