COVID-19 has claimed more lives as reported on Sheboygan County’s Coronavirus Case Dashboard from the Division of Public Health on Wednesday. Although the count displayed as a total was raised only one – to 250, a tally done from the breakdown by age group added two to the casualties among those in their 70s, leading to a total of 251 deaths. One-hundred-thirteen victims were at least 80 years old, sixty-six were in their 70s, forty were in their 60s, sixteen were in their 50s, nine were in their 40s, six were in their 30s, and one was between 10 and 19 years old. We will update figures once the discrepancy is addressed by the County DPH.
14 more confirmed cases of COVID-19 were logged since Tuesday, raising the total to 29,230. For the first time since September 16 last year, the number of active cases has fallen below 500, to 486 now being monitored. Another 70 persons recovered since Tuesday.
Hospitalizations have been needed by 1,191 persons in Sheboygan County so far, with 9 currently being treated, a gain of two since Wednesday.
The COVID-19 Disease Activity Level in Sheboygan County for the period February 16 to March 1 was “High”, with a burden of 198.7 per 100,000 persons. Compared with the previous reading of 426.1, that represents a downward trajectory of 39%.
62.6% of the county population, or 72,190 persons, have received at least one dose of vaccine, a gain of 28 in the last day. Another 41 finished their course of shots, bringing the number of those fully-vaccinated to 68,952, or 59.8%. 32.1%, or 36,945, have received boosters, 37 of those within the last day.
