Since autumn began on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Sheboygan County has exceeded 580. Today that number fell to 571, the lowest since there were 516 on September 20th last year, the second-last day of summer. Trends are favorable as we emerge from winter and begin spending more time in the outdoors, known to be a positive force in slowing the spread of respiratory illnesses.
Since Friday 40 more cases were confirmed, raising the total to 29,206. At the same time, 237 persons recovered, dropping the active count by 197.
Six more persons needed to be admitted for hospital treatment since the end of last week, but the patient count dropped by two to 9 beds occupied. 1,184 total patients have been recorded here so far.
Sheboygan County’s Community Level is “low”.
62.6% of the county population has now received at least one dose of vaccine, an increase of 19 since Friday and raising that total to 72,139. 68,881 of those, or 59.8%, had completed their two-dose series, and 36,865, or 32.0%, had received a booster dose.
Facility-wide investigations are being conducted at the same eight institutions listed last week Monday. Those are:
