The fifth and sixth deaths this week attributed to COVID-19 in Sheboygan County were reported on Friday by the Division of Public Health, raising the pandemic toll here to 248. One casualty was in their 60s and the other was in their 70s. One-hundred-thirteen of all casualties so far were at least 80 years old, while sixty-three were in their 70s, forty were in their 60s, sixteen were in their 50s, nine were in their 40s, six were in their 30s and one was between 10 and 19 years old.
9 more cases of COVID-19 were confirmed on Friday in Sheboygan County, raising the pandemic total to 29,166. 768 or those are active, down 118 from Thursday as there were 125 recoveries besides the two deaths.
The 7-day average of new confirmed COVID-19 cases in Sheboygan County was measured at 9 on Friday, February 25, 2022, equal to the same reading last experienced on July 25,2021.
There were 11 patients now hospitalized for COVID-19, one more than on Thursday, and the total patient count rose by two, to 1,178.
The level of community transmission in Sheboygan County is “High”, with 112.71 cases per 110,000 persons in the last 7 days. 7.74% of tests were returning positive for COVID-19, a drop of only 0.04% from Thursday.
Vaccine totals were not updated by the State DPH as of 3:30 p.m. on Friday, February 25.
