SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) – Roads are covered in a sheet of ice in Sheboygan County. The Sheriff’s Department had to shut down I-43 north of Highway 42 after a crash early this morning. Deputies say a car lost control and rolled around 1am, and while deputies were responding, a semi jackknifed in the same area.
Ambulance Service in the county is responding non-emergent to calls because of the extremely slippery conditions.
There were reports of cars stopped along the side of Highway 57 with their hazards on because they couldn’t move –
The Sheriff’s Department’s Shift Commander telling WHBL he tracked one of the county deputies cutting across the county at 17 miles per hour early Tuesday morning.
There have been numerous cars that have slid off the road and both the Police and Sheriff’s Department are urging people to plan for *at least* double their travel time if they’re going to venture out.
