LuEva Mae Nytes, 94, of Sheboygan Falls, passed into the loving arms of God on February 13,
2022, at Pine Haven Christian Home. She was born April 28, 1927, to the late Arno and Lillian
(Nelson) Mueller in Sheboygan and grew up in Kohler. LuEva graduated from Sheboygan Central
High School with the Class of 1945, and attended classes post High School in Evanston, IL, at the
“Cradle”. She was employed at the Kohler Company as a switch-board operator in 1947. On
May 9, 1951, she was united in marriage to Robert Nytes in Waukegan, IL., and they raised their
family in Sheboygan. Lu was employed at Evans Department Store from 1975-1988.
Lu and her family were long time members of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. After
65 years of marriage, 57 years in their home, Lu and Bob decided to move into Prairie Crossing
in Sheboygan Falls. When they moved, they became members of Bethany Lutheran Church, in
Kohler.
Lu and Bob loved “Big Band” dancing and took many trips with family and friends on vacation
tours. On Sundays they spent time with their family, parents, Neil and Shirley’s family,
celebrating holidays, birthdays, special events with brat fries and German potato salad, and
always a slice of delicious dessert. There was always a lot of laughter and smiles when the
family got together.
Lu enjoyed cross-stitching, reading, watching her WI sports teams, Bingo, and keeping up with
family and friends, by phone, cards and visits.
LuEva is survived by her daughters, Jane (Pete II) Scaffidi, Julie (Radotich) McDonald and son
Jeffery (Kim) Nytes; grandchildren, Nicole (Jonathan) Radotich-Birkholz, Danielle Radotich,
Ketley (Andy) Patton, Peter Scaffidi III, Gordon (Aimee) Nytes, and Patrick Nytes; and great-
grandchildren; Nolan and Mila Radotich- Birkholz, Hudson Patton, Josh Nytes, and 1 on the way,
sister-in-law Shirley Mueller; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Neil Mueller.
