Active Cases of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County During 2022 from the Sheboygan County DPH Coronavirus Case Dashboard
As if to cast a pall upon otherwise promising trends, COVID-19 has proven again to be a deadly disease even as the latest wave recedes in Sheboygan County.
A child under age 10 and a person in their 20s are among five deaths attributed to COVID-19 that were added to the toll with Monday’s update from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health, the first in their respective age groups to succumb to the coronavirus. In addition, a second county resident between 10 and 19 fell victim, as did one in their 70s and one in their 50s. The five deaths push the toll to 237. Of the now 237 deaths, 109 were at least 80 years old, fifty-seven were in their 70s, thirty-six were in their 60s, sixteen were in their 50s, nine were in their 40s, six were in their 30s, one was in their 20s, two were between 10 an 19 years old, and one was under age 10.
While 151 new confirmed positives pushed the total number of COVID-19 cases in Sheboygan County to 28,704, another 672 persons recovered, pushing active cases down by 523 to 3,585, the lowest in three weeks.
With 4 persons newly admitted for treatment, 1,145 county residents have needed hospitalization at some time for the coronavirus. 27 of those are now hospitalized, five fewer than on Friday.
