The number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Sheboygan County has been revised, as the State Department of Health Services and the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health have worked through a backlog of data. Here is the full text of the message from the County DPH in its Thursday “Weekly Update”:
“Today we are reporting 31 confirmed and 7 probable deaths of Sheboygan County residents. These deaths occurred over a 2 and a half month period from the beginning of November 2021 through mid-January 2022.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services and Sheboygan County Division of Public Health have experienced a backlog of data in terms of COVID related deaths. Confirming COVID deaths for our data can take time, however we anticipate that the reporting of COVID deaths will be more timely moving forward.
As Wisconsin DHS continues to work through a backlog of data, SCDPH is assisting DHS so we can report Sheboygan County confirmed and probable deaths quicker than DHS is able to alone.
COVID vaccines are your best protection from hospitalization and death from COVID-19. For statistics related to cases, hospitalizations, and deaths based on vaccination status, please see statewide data on illness after vaccination.
The below graph represents all reported Sheboygan County deaths (Confirmed and Probable), as of 1/27/22, that have occurred since the beginning of the pandemic.”
