Harlan Jay Englebert, 63, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Monday, January 24, 2022.
Harlan was born to Henry “Hank” and Marilyn (Wiech) Englebert on July 8, 1958, in Leesville, Louisiana, where they were stationed at Fort Polk. He attended local schools until joining the U.S. Army. After serving his country, he worked in construction trades as a roofer for the majority of his working career.
Harlan was a roofer at heart, loved telling roofing stories, and was very mechanically handy. He was a hardworking and generous man with his time and skills, always willing to lend a hand when needed. He loved his boat and going fishing on small lakes early in the mornings. Harlan enjoyed going to rummage sales to find treasures. He was happiest tinkering in his work shed with coffee in hand, his wood stove stoked, and radio playing. Harlan’s love of cars, mechanics, and stock car races were a few of the things he shared with his father.
Harlan is survived by his mother, Marilyn Englebert; sisters, Chris (Jeff) Kutzner and Liz Weavers; brother, Jay (Julie) Englebert; nephews, Zachary, Jayden, Jake; nieces, Tayrn, Tessa; and special friends, Jamie and Chris.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry “Hank” Englebert and brother-in-law, Jon Weavers.
Along with Harlan’s wishes, a private family service will be held.
