To portray the 2022 portion of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic in Sheboygan County graphically paints a pretty smooth line…upwards. When the new year began, 1,250 cases were active. Three week in, and four times the number exist. If anything, though, most of the acceleration was last week, when the active count more than doubled. During this past week, that pace slowed from 112% growth to about a 40% increase in active cases. Deaths, however, received a revision that demonstrated the still present danger of a lethal bout with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

With 123 recoveries in the past day, active cases rose 115, to 4,914 active…surpassing the 2020 pandemic high of 2634 on November 24, 2020 by over 85% – and still rising.
