Rebecca “Bekca” Price (nee Sweet), went home to her Heavenly Father on Sunday morning, January 16, 2022 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan after a battle with COVID. She was 53 years old.
Rebecca was born February 2, 1968 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Kurt and Nancy (nee Erickson) Sweet. She attended Sheboygan North High School. On August 26, 1996, she was united in marriage with Steven Price in Las Vegas.
Bekca dedicated her life to caring and raising foster and special needs children. She had enjoyed volunteering at her kid’s elementary school, and loved crafting and photography. She generously made sure that her children’s classmates were able to afford field trips and special school events, and that people from the community were able to have senior photos and wedding photos taken regardless of their finances. She was outgoing, straight forward, and honest. Her nieces and nephews remember Bekca as the “best, fun aunt” who spoiled them with movie marathons and Black Friday shopping.
Bekca is survived by her husband Steve and children: Devon, Paul, Alea and Lindsay Price and Arianna Rauth. She is further survived by her father Kurt Sweet of Oostburg; siblings: Brian (Sue) Jennings of Aurora, WI, Jayson (Sylvia) Sweet of San Antonio, TX and Janice (Craig) Scott of Sheboygan Falls; mother-in-law Marilyn Price of Oostburg; sisters-in-law Patti (Jim) TenDolle of Oostburg and Judy (Roger) Lubbers of Sheboygan Falls; many children that she fostered and cared for that she maintained special relationships with; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother Nancy Sweet, father-in-law Allen Price and brother David Jennings.
Friends and family are welcome to greet the family for a time of visitation on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 4:00-7:00PM at Wenig Funeral Home of Oostburg, and again on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Gibbsville Church from 10:00-11:00AM. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Gibbsville Church with Pastor David Krueger officiating.
