If the full County Board follows the recommendations of the Human Resources and Law Committees, essential services employees will soon be getting something extra on their paychecks.
The committees have recommended a $2.00 premium wage adjustment effective on February 27th for non-salaried corrections staff with the Sheriff’s Department, and at Rocky Knoll for Environmental Service Workers, Maintenance Workers-II and Technicians, and Certified Nursing Assistants. The move is in recognition of the essential and difficult work of those employees during the COVID-19 pandemic and was included in rules by the U.S. Treasury as part of the ARPA funds.
Also included in that resolution before the County Board at the regular monthly meeting on Tuesday are quarterly retention bonuses of $150 for part time, and $300 for full time for all Sheriff Corrections Staff and Rocky Knoll Staff who’ve worked at least 90 days, paid at the end of each quarter through December 31st. Those benefits will be good through the end of this year. Health and Dental Insurance will also be provided for two unbudgeted Corrections Officers effective March 31st through 2024 thanks to the ARPA funds.
