The current surge of COVID-19 cases in Sheboygan County is leaving many past high marks in the dust. 13.3% of all cases discovered here during the nearly 2-year course of the pandemic are now active according to data posted on Thursday on the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health’s Coronavirus Case Dashboard.
3,226 cases are now active, 439 more than on Wednesday. 478 new positive tests have raised the total count to 24,265. 90 persons have recovered since Wednesday. Hospitalizations have remained nearly static, with 5 patients discharged, and 4 newly admitted for a 44 current patient count.
The Level of Community Transmission in Sheboygan County is considered “High”, with a 7-day new case total (per 100,000 population) of 1,664.64, a 54.64-point increase in the last day. The percent of tests returning positive in the last 7 days is up about a third of a percent in the same time to 31.39%.
92 more persons have received their first dose of vaccine in the last day, upping the total to 70,762, or 61.4% of the County. 57.9%, or 66,738, have completed their series with the addition of 48 since Wednesday.
