Three schools in the Sheboygan Area district have had mandatory masking rules imposed in as many days. Lincoln-Erdman Elementary is the latest to experience at least 5% of the student body coming down with COVID-19, and thus crossing the threshold requiring all students, teachers, staff and visitors to mask up for the next 7 days. 6.46% there, or 25 students, had COVID as of Tuesday. The mandatory masking requirement was set by the School Board back in October. Sheboygan Leadership Academy implemented the rule on Monday, followed the next day by Central High School.
If the present rate of increase continues, it’s likely that Sheboygan North High School and Sheridan Elementary School will both cross the 5% threshold within the next day.
