Norman H. “Norm” Weigel, age 76, of Plymouth, passed away December 14, 2021, at Rocky Knoll Health
Care Facility in Plymouth, where he had been a resident for the past 2 ½ years.
He was born in Fond du Lac on April 20, 1945, a son of the late William and Ruby (Grebe) Weigel, and
attended Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac.
Norm served in the United States Army and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. During his service, Norm
earned a Bronze Star with valor, and was also a proud member of the Gilles-Weiss American Legion Post
#484 of Glenbeulah.
He worked at Gilson Brothers/Toro for many years, and later at Lakeland Truck Caps in Greenbush.
On July 21, 1984, he married Vicki Born at Zion Lutheran Church in Glenbeulah.
Norm was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Plymouth, serving as an usher, and also
helping to decorate the church for holidays for many years.
He enjoyed splitting wood, taking care of his dogs, his truck, and his yard. Norm also enjoyed going to
the gas station with his buddies to get scratch-off lottery tickets.
Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, and over the years he loved going to his kids’ and
grandkids’ sports and activities.
Norm is survived by his wife, Vicki; Daughters: Wendy (Brian) Henschel of Elkhart Lake, Cindy (Greg)
Bernfeld of Orange, CT, Kelly Senkbeil of Sheboygan, and Deborah (James) Mazol of Washington, D.C.;
Grandchildren: Angel, Destiny, and Adela Henschel, Sophia and Carley Bernfeld, Erin Koenig, Mason and
Derek Senkbeil, and Jack Mazol; a Brother: Delbert (Deb) Weigel; Sisters-in-law: Diane Weigel-Kaminskas
and Sandy (José) Castillo; a Brother-in-law: Fred (Denise) Born; as well as many cousins, nieces,
nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a Grandson: Brendan Koenig; a Brother: George Weigel; a
Brother-in-law: Michael Born; and his beloved dogs: Molly, Buddy, Dusty, and Tara.
Funeral services will be held on Monday (December 20, 2021) at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth.
Visitation will take place from 3:30-5:30 P.M., with a prayer service to follow at 5:30 P.M. Pastor Leslie
O’Callaghan will officiate and burial will be in the Greenbush Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Norm’s name.
